Captain

Your captains role is to plan your sailing route on a daily basis with the primary responsibility being the safety and well being of all on board. Your captain will maintain the vessel and provide you with the safety and comfort of the vessel whilst being on a mooring or at anchor overnight.

Approximately two weeks prior to your charter, your captain will be in contact to discuss the details of your trip. This is your opportunity to discuss your itinerary, any excursions you wish to go on and anywhere in particular you would like to visit. Your captain will then plan the best route for your charter based on his excellent experience and knowledge of the BVI.

Tipping your captain is standard practice in the yachting industry. Although gratuity/tips are welcomed they are not mandatory and are based upon the service that you, as the client feel you received. For your convenience we recommend 7%-10% of the charter fee.

VOYAGE Charters recommend you give your captain gratuity in cash; however, they are also happy to accept personal checks. If you would like to make use of the VOYAGE charters credit card facility, please note that a 3.35% credit card fee will be added.
