Hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, Emily grew up in a big family where food was the ultimate language of love. Now, she combines that deep-rooted passion for creating memorable meals with her love of nature and life at sea, making her role as a yacht chef a dream come true.

Emily’s culinary philosophy centers on nourishing, mouthwatering food made from scratch with the finest seasonal ingredients. To her, luxury cuisine is real food—free from preservatives and additives—that leaves guests not only satisfied but feeling great at the end of their charter. Emily’s cosmopolitan menu reflects her travels and her passion for high-quality, whole foods.

With certifications from SYCA and expertise in freediving, Emily adds a unique touch to the guest experience, both in and out of the galley. Her resourceful nature and vibrant enthusiasm shine as she continually seeks ways to elevate every aspect of a charter. As a self-described “maximizer,” she’s committed to making every moment exceptional, turning meals into shared experiences that bring people together.

When she’s not preparing delicious meals, Emily stays active with running, swimming, freediving, hiking, and yoga.

A creative soul, she also enjoys photography and crafting, passions she brings to her work through beautifully presented dishes and artfully curated table settings. Guests might find it fun to learn that Emily backpacked through Asia in 2023, where she discovered her love for freediving—reaching depths of 18 meters on a single breath!

Her favorite spots in the BVI are those secluded anchorages where it feels like you have the ocean all to yourself—a true luxury in paradise.
